- Somatic movement - potentials and goals?
Workshop What is Somatics? | EN+DE
This workshop will give you a practical insight into some somatic methods at the Somatic Academy.
It will enable you to get to know the facilitators of the Somatic Pedagogy training programme, get a taste of the working methods of the Somatic Foundation Year and ask your questions about the training.
Somatic methods open up new scope. In this process, they touch on habitual ‘embodied’ breathing, voice and body postures, which under certain circumstances can lead to the freezing of our mental and physical action and reaction mechanisms and to incomplete ways of processing stress. Somatics therefore invites us to relax and restructure. This gradually results in a deeper ability to relax, greater inner resilience, a greater variety of practical options for action and an increase in flexibility. This mobilisation of the body's own resources brings about a significant and lasting change towards basal well-being.
Fundamentally, somatic methods are only accessible through direct experience and are also taught in this way. Afterwards, forms of mentalisation and embedding in philosophical or neuroscientific questions are possible.
Methods:
Body-Mind Centering
Experiential breathing according to Prof. Ilse Middendorf
Somatic Voice practices
