- Somatic/Artistic Research and Documentation
EN | 2-day Workshop with Susanne Martin & Andrea Keiz
This workshop uses strategies and forms of reflection from artistic research and applies them to somatic processes.
Artistic Research has been developing since the last decades as a recognized form of 1st & 2nd person research and thus also includes the researching person (I) and his or her counterpart (You) in the research and cognition process. Thus, artistic research offers good foundations to apply to somatic research. Since somatic processes can also involve the risk of losing oneself in the doing or of losing insights already gained, research and documentation practices form a valuable and necessary basis for individual and professional development.
This weekend will teach the basics of Artistic/Somatic Research and thus tools for critical reflection on one's own somatic and creative process. This supports the development of an inquiring attitude. Different documentation possibilities will be introduced and tried out in order to be able to choose one's own documentation practice suitable to the research project. The engagement with documentation helps to sharpen one's own research interest and later to reflect on the process of research through individual evaluation.
This workshop is also a module of the continuing education Environmental Somatics Training. It will be in English.
