Continuing Education Body–Mind Centering®

Continuing Education Body–Mind Centering®

DE+EN | Sensing and Perception at the finest, cellular level and its expression through movement

In this training program principles and approaches of Body-Mind Centering® are experienced and deepened. Through anatomical information, through movement, in touch, partnerwork and in the group, we make tissues of the body tangible and enable a deep, subtle experience of one's own body.

Through anatomy, movement and touch as well as partner and group exercises we will become familiar with the different structures of the body, cultivating a deep and subtle somatic awareness.

We will experience moments of embryology, the early development of our being. We explore developmental stages from single-celled organisms to walking beings, how they intertwine and still shape us in our movements and actions today.

Training program Body-Mind Centering® with Nina Wehnert

The training is geared toward everyone wishing to develop a deeper understanding of BMC® and to engage with the world of body, movement and dance. Prerequisites are the desire and willingness to experiment with free movement and touch as well as a responsible approach to working with one’s own body.

Curriculum of the whole BMC® trainnig

Feb 21 - Jun 22, 2025 | 5 Modules | each Friday - Sunday

  • Friday 06:00pm - 08:30pm
  • Saturday 10:00am - 01:00pm and 02:30pm - 05:00pm
  • Sunday 09:30am - 12:30pm und 01:30pm - 03:30pm

Module 1

Feb 21-23, 2025 | Bones: Structural integrity

  • Bones provide a clear internal organization. They provide structure and form. They are part of a three-dimensional tension network of bones, fascia, ligaments and muscles.

Module 2

Mar 28-30, 2025 | Organs: fullness, three-dimensionality and breath

  • Organs provide fullness, volume and three-dimensionality in our body. They are alive, offer their weight and elasticity to support movement. Diaphragms in the body connect and create spaces that are being moved through the breath.

Module 3

Apr 25-27, 2025 | Early childhood movement development

  • In early childhood movement development, we explore movements from single-celled organisms to walking creatures. Crawling, rolling, pushing, yielding, reaching, pulling, grasping, letting go and spreading out from the center in all directions are some of the aspects that have their origins in early childhood movement development. They shape how we experience ourselves in the world, make contact and communicate with it.

Module 4

May 09-11, 2025 | The fluids: rhythm and flow

  • Fluids are communication networks in the body. Fluids connect, nourish and move us in many different ways. They support flow, lightness, freedom, dynamic and ease in movement. Pulsation and rhythm emanate from them.

Module 5

Jun 20-22, 2025 | The nervous system: regulation and balance

  • The nervous system registers, perceives, regulates and gives impulses. It is the organization of bodily functions, movement, perception, rest and action.
Through autonomous processes, the nervous system creates the basis for
our wakefulness, thinking and conscious action and reaction.

For solo self-employed persons, this continuing education may be partially or even fully eligible for funding under the KOMPASS program of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. >> further information

What is Body-Mind Centering®?

Body-Mind Centering® (BMC®) explores the interaction and synergy of body and consciousness/mind in a deepening and playful way.BMC® invites us into the living and continuously changing inner being. This transformational journey strengthens our understanding of the expression of spirit/consciousness in and through the body.Microstructures of the body are explored, as well as space-consuming movement. A constant dialogue of perception, mindfulness, movement and action. The individual anatomy can be experienced in a lively way, which allows you to expand and change your own expression and personal perception.

How does the training is structured?

The Body-Mind Centering® training includes five modules based on each other. We will explore certain milestones of our movement development. We will explore our inherent alphabet of movement, - the reflexes - a beginning vocabulary of movement that allows growth and interaction in this world. The readiness for relating, weight bearing, rolling, locomotion, equilibrium. Exploring and moving through theses stages can offer ease, lightness, stability and freedom in our dances.

The focus is on experiencing, the joy of moving and exploring your own body. It is about profound experience, well-founded knowledge and becoming aware of inner and outer connections: perception on the finest, cellular level and its expression through movement. There is space to expand one's own movement potential, to feel one's own way and to express oneself, to differentiate oneself and thus to inhabit one's own body anew.

Which methods were practiced?

Contact Improvisation and Authentic Movement will serve as integration practices. Each module will cover a specific theme; the training modules build on each other.

For whom is the Body-Mind Centering® training program recommended?

The training is geared toward everyone wishing to develop a deeper understanding of BMC® and to engage with the world of body, movement and dance. Prerequisites are the desire and willingness to experiment with free movement and touch as well as a responsible approach to working with one’s own body.

Which benefits does it provides?

The integration of BMC® offers a variety of perspectives to expand the previous field of working and action through tangible impulses of anatomy, movement and touch. Your participation will be certified.

You will attend to the different body systems such as bones, fascia, connective tissue, organs, fluids or the nervous system and explore their dynamics and qualities. Learn how developmental movement patterns influence the way we move and make contact with our environment. Re-experience our embryological origins. Explore the stages of human development, from single-celled organisms to walking beings, how they intertwine and shape our movement and actions today.

Ninas wish for this training is to spark your joy of movement and interest in exploring your body. You will be provided with profound knowledge, engage in in-depth experience and become aware of the interconnectedness of inner and outer processes: awareness on a subtle, cellular level and its expression through movement. This will create space to expand your movement potential and get to know the ways in which you express and differentiate, in other words: to inhabit your body in a new way.
